Outfits inspired by 'My Fair Lady'

I'll admit it, I'm a little bit obsessed with Audrey Hepburn, and most of the outfits of the characters she plays are amazing fashion inspiration. But 'My Fair Lady' is especially good for looking at the elegance of the clothes of that time. Obviously, what was fashionable back then might not be so suitable now though, so here are some modern day interpretations of some of the best outfits from 'My Fair Lady':
Outfit 1 - At the Races:

If you keep the idea of the form-fitting dress, but take it shorter and one shouldered, it becomes a lot more modern, while still maintaining references to Audrey Hepburn's outfit. Also, as Audrey's outfit in this scene is the only one with any colour; adding a pop of red in the form of a flower shaped clutch is perfect, especially as the bag gives a nod to her previous life selling flowers. (Dress, Shrug and Hat from Topshop, Belt from Dorothy Perkins, Flower Bag from nordstrom, Umbrella from costumecraze, and Shoes from net-a-porter)

Outfit 2 - Elisa Leaves

Swap out a skirt and jacket for a cute short suit in the same shade, then trade a typical Eliza hat for a statement headband in a matching colour. This look would definitely work for the office, especially when matched with a simple brown satchel. (Short suit from ASOS, headband from Topshop, Satchel from ASOS)

Outfit 3: Elisa's white dress

Elisa clearly knew the power of an all white ensemble, as every girl should. Bring the look up to date and on trend with a lace LWD (definitely reminds me of the dress Blair Waldorf wore in the Hamptons), then trade a slightly-too-fancy tiara for an embellished headband. Finally add some edge with studded nude heels and you've got yourself the perfect Audrey-inspired outfit. (White Dress from ASOS, headband from Topshop, Shoes from River Island)

Skincare routine

Okay, so since I hit puberty, I've had really shitty combination skin. I tried all the typical stuff like clean & clear and clearasil etc., but it didnt work for me, partly because they dried my skin out insanely badly, and partly because I just couldnt stick to the whole cleanse, tone, moisturise routine, so for ages I've been being stupidly lazy and just been using face wipes before I go to bed (terrible I know).
Luckily, after listening to me bitch about how much I hate my skin, a girl at school recommended some products to me, and I've actually been trying to stick with them. So, here I am passing on the knowledge.
The products are mostly from the Body Shop, which is kinda awesome 'cause I've got one of those reward card thingies. So. Number 1.

1.Vitamin E Cream Cleanser.
This actually made me break out in the first week, but stick with it 'cause it gives great results. Not trying to sound big headed, but skin = glowing.
Plus it's only £2.50 and it's lasting ages.

2. Rose Water
This was the best thing she recommended. Use it as a toner and it works amazingly. Plus it's way cheaper than any skin product, and you can get it from any supermarket really.
3. Vitamin E Moisture Cream. (Also, the nourishing night cream, not pictured)I was really worried this was going to moisturise my skin too much, especially as it's targeted towards older women. But it works well and my skin feels nice and soft.

So yeah. This has definitely been helping me out a lot, and I am SO GRATEFUL for the friend who recommended these. Just thought I'd upload them for anyone else that wants to shake up their facial care routine a bit. Just a warning though, at first, these products caused me to break out really badly, so if anyone experiences this just stick with it, because once it cleared up my skin looked great. Also, obviously, just because products work or don't work on my skin doesn't mean they'll be the same for everybody, but I genuinely think that most people will love this stuff and get really good results!
